A downloadable Roguelite Platformer

Aura of worlds is a creative tactics rogue-lite platformer. Explore multiple worlds where you must utilise your creative abilities and twist adversity to your advantage. You'll need planning, wits and reflexes to make a way through these ever-changing death labyrinths.

Escape flooding passages, outrun toxic pollen, face off against gargantuan bosses that have made entire mazes their home. Do you play defensively with the spear and energy shield, or swing into the fray with a boomerang and grapple hook? Do you scour the levels for potions and runes; or do you dive headfirst into the chaos?

Procedural levels range from pursuing toxic pollen; to flooded passages lined with explosives; to bosses spanning the entire labyrinth. There are multiple solutions to every problem. For example, if there is a laser force field trap in front of you do you...:

  • Throw an enemy into it?
  • Blow up the conduit with a grenade?
  • Blink through it?
  •  Cloak yourself to pass through undetected?
  • ...

On Windows you will need:

  • A computer running Windows XP or higher.
  • The .Net framework installed (which you should be prompted for by Microsoft if it isn't)
  • mouse and keyboard or... an Xbox controller
  • If you are running the demo on a low end windows laptop; please select dedicated graphics for smoother performance (right click->graphics process).

On Mac (Unstable):

  • OS: Mac OS 10.7-10.14
  • Processor: 64 Bit
  • Memory: 2 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Open GL 3.7 or higher
  • Storage: 1200 MB available space
  • Additional Notes: You will also need Mono Framework 6.5 or higher installed.  Some Macs would require special permissions to run apps not officially-nortarized
  • Proceed to MacAndLinux folder and run AuraOfWorlds_MacLaunch.command

On Linux/Steam Deck

  • OS: Ubuntu 10.7 or higher
  • Processor: 64 Bit
  • Memory: 1500 MB RAM
  • Graphics: Open GL 3.7 or higher
  • Storage: 1200 MB available space
  • Additional Notes: You will also need Mono Framework 5.8 or higher installed.
  • Proceed to MacAndLinux folder and run Launch_LinuxAOW.sh

Install instructions

You will need:

  • A computer running Windows XP or higher.
  • The .Net framework installed (which you should be prompted for by Microsoft if it isn't)
  • mouse and keyboard or... an Gamepad controller(prompts are for Xbox/Steam Deck)
  • If you are running the demo on a low end windows laptop; please select dedicated graphics for smoother performance (right click->graphics process)

To Run:

  • Download the file above.
  • Unzip the file (use 7-zip if you don't have a utility installed)
